Cinderella: The protagonist of the story, Cinderella is the doted-upon only daughter of a well-off, unnamed widowed father. He remarries sometime in her childhood to the haughty Lady Tremaine but dies soon after. She spends most of her formative years as a maid in her own home. After the family receives an invitation to go to the ball that night where "every eligible maiden is to attend," she finishes her daily chores in time to go. She is able to attend the ball with the help of her animal friends and later, her fairy godmother. It is there that she and the Prince fall in love. When the clock rings midnight, she loses her famous glass slipper as she runs away from the Prince. After more meddling from Lady Tremaine, she nearly misses her chance to prove to the Grand Duke that the slippers were hers. She does so, and in the end, marries the Prince.
Fairy Godmother: Created from the hope that Cinderella still had even after her jealous stepsisters destroyed the gown. Cinderella's Fairy Godmother uses magic to create a new dress for her to wear. She also enlists Cinderella's animal friends to drive her carriage made from a pumpkin, and gives her the deadline of midnight to return home, else the magic will wear off.
Prince Charming: the prince of the unnamed kingdom who is uninterested in settling down. However, at the ball held in his honor, he finds Cinderella and falls in love with her.
Lady Tremaine: The antagonist of the story, Lady Tremaine is Cinderella's evil stepmother. She heavily favors her natural daughters Anastasia and Drizella to Cinderella. After the death of her second husband, she insists on making Cinderella the house maid. Her primary goal in the film is get her ungraceful daughters married off, preferably to the Prince. She fears Cinderella's natural beauty and kindness will prevent this from happening. She does this by giving them voice and instrument lessons, but both girls are hopeless cases. She sees Cinderella at the ball but can't quite place her. When the Grand Duke arrives to find the owner of the glass slipper, she locks Cinderella in her room when she realizes that Cinderella was the girl at the ball.
Anastasia Tremaine: The elder sister, Anastasia has medium-length red hair, a burgundy dress, and a nasty attitude. She plays the flute during "Sing Sweet Nightingale." Along with Drizella, she destroys the dress created for Cinderella before the ball.
Drizella Tremaine: The younger sister, Drizella has black hair and a green dress. Her attitude is just as nasty as her older sister's. She sings during "Sing Sweet Nightingale." She destroys the dress Cinderella has planned to wear to the Prince's ball, because Cinderella's animals friends used old cast-offs of theirs from earlier in the story.
Grand Duke: The King's right hand man, he believes that the prince should fall in love and not be forced to marry. However, he helps organize the ball that is to celebrate the return of the Prince while inviting "all eligible maidens in the kingdom" to attend. He is the one who also takes on the tireless task of finding the owner of the glass slipper.
King: The leader of an unnamed kingdom, the King is ready to retire from the throne, and become a doting grandfather to his son's nonexistent children at the beginning of the story. He orders the Grand Duke that under the pretense of celebrating the return of his son, a ball must be held where his son may meet his match.
Jaq & Gus: Jaq and Gus are two of Cinderella's mouse friends. At the beginning of the story, Cinderella rescues Gus from a mouse trap and he and Jaq become fast friends. A lot of their storyline in the movie is their run-ins with Lucifer, Lady Tremaine's cat. They both find the accessories and pieces of Cinderella's dress so that the female mice can make a dress for "Cinderelly" to wear to the ball. Later on, Cinderella's Fairy Godmother turns them into footmen for her carriage. They also help find the key to Cinderella's room so she can prove to the Grand Duke that she is the owner of the glass slipper.
Bruno: Cinderella's faithful but sleepy bloodhound who has a natural hate for Lucifer. She tries to tell him not to hate Lucifer, advising that "there must be something good about him." Of course, she can't think of anything. He helps save Jaq and Gus from Lucifer at the end of the movie.
Lucifer: Lady Tremaine's pet cat. He is wily and spiteful, and not a very good mouse-catcher. He spends his day giving Cinderella and her mouse friends hell, and enjoys torturing Bruno, among other things. He plays a large part in keeping Cinderella locked up in her room but ultimately fails.
